Newham College of Further
Education is offering a new free online course which leads to
nationally-recognised qualification.
The East London College has joined forces with e-learning
provider vision2learn
(www.vision2learn.net) to deliver a range of NVQ programmes
including Essential IT Skills @ Work (iTQ). This course is designed
to help employed people of all levels learn the new skills they
need and achieve recognition for the skills they already have. The
course provides an alternative and accessible route to studying,
allowing people from Newham, Stratford and East London to study at
their own pace.
Vision2learn courses are
fully funded by the Learning and Skills Council and courses
available span IT, work skills, health, fitness, sports coaching
and wider key skills such as starting your own business and
succeeding at
work.
Once assigned to the college, students can work independently
through study units and complete assessments on
vision2learn's interactive
study area. Each student has an experienced online tutor to offer
help and support throughout their course and learners can monitor
their progress while working in their own time and at their own
pace. As vision2learn
delivers qualifications online, it can be a great help to
individuals who are in full time employment are unable to attend
tutorials.
There are limited free places available on
vision2learn's Essential IT
Skills @ Work NVQ course. They are open to local residents, 16
years or older, employed and who have lived in the EU for over
three years.
Over 60,000 people have already benefited from
vision2learn's 21st Century
approach to learning and now people living in and around East
London have the opportunity to gain invaluable
qualifications.
